Activity Report - Fellowship London Show Trip
Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th March

The tickets and accommodation were booked so a happy band of 10 headed down south for the long but very enjoyable day of train-pub-show-pub-sights-pub-bed!

Some questions need to be answered though.

Information on 2008 camps for Cubs and Scouts

Information sheets and registration forms for Camps are now available for download.

These forms were handed out at pack and troop meetings several weeks ago, and even though plenty have been returned already, there are still some out there.

Anybody not returning their completed form with deposits by Friday 31 March is NOT guaranteed a place on one of the camps they later decide to take part in.

It's time to play the music, It's time to light the lights
It's time to meet 1st Bedworth on Rough and Ready 08.

The lights have been turned off and the back cloth packed away. Yes, Rough and Ready is over for another year.

Before the stage turns back into a pile of pallets though we have a note of thanks from Kerrie as well as a note on how it went.

Activity Report - A Day in the Hills
Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th February
Snowdonia, North Wales

The trip was Ben's idea and he had volunteered to drive. The plan was for Ben, Roger and Mark to head on up to Snowdonia from Bedworth, walk over Pen yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd and Carnedd Llewelyn, dinner and a few beers in the Tyn-Y-Coed Hotel in Capel Curig, then camp overnight at the Dolgam campsite.

Ben and Roger were using the trip as a log book day before they go for Summer Mountain Leader assessment later this year, Mark was just along for the jolly and to keep his hand in.

It's that time of year again when we ask for everybody's cooperation in completing new registration forms. It's vitally important that we have up to date information on all members of the Group, so to make things easier we have given the form a facelift.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award
Bronze Expedition Report

In September and October 2007, a team of 1st Bedworth Explorer Scouts undertook their Duke of Edinburgh's practice and qualifying expeditions. The team was equipped with rucksacs, waterproofs and tents purchased with a grant from the Local Network Fund.

* 6-7 September 2007 - Practice - Bedworth to Rough Close Scout Camp, Coventry
* 19-21 October 2007 - Qualifier - Cannock Chase, Staffordshire

As part of our programme of continually reviewing the way we present information to members and parents, we have moved off our longstanding calendar to make use of a Google calendar.

We have now added a form to make it easier to get in touch with 1st Bedworth Scout Group when a parent or young person wants to contact us to discuss joining the Group.

Our Group Scout Leader, Dave Woodward, has asked for a page to present his musings! He is the boss after all, so there was very little we could do to say no.

New style website launched

1stbedworth.co.uk has been running for several years now and we thought it was about time we gave it a bit of a face lift.

The previous site design has been very successful for us and most of our recruitment over the last few years has come through it. We are very grateful to our former Secretary, Paul Woodward, for the work he put into it.
