Well it was the day that the mountain bike group was going to Cannock chase again. We all met at the Scout Hut at 7.30am Saturday so we could  get to Cannock early. The lads were all excited, ready to go, and ready to get muddy. On the way there, Max who is an Explorer  and Matty  who is  a Scout, were telling really bad jokes. Richard and Leigh, who were the Leaders in charge, were winding the lads up about  how big the hills would be. We finally got to Cannock Chase at about 9.00am.  We all worked as a team to get the bikes off the roof and all the equipment out off the car. The weather wasn’t too bad in Cannock, just a bit windy and drizzling rain. It didn’t affect us having fun and getting moody, that’s what mountain biking all about.

We  headed off to the trail. The trail has loads of stages some are easy,  others are alright, and some are hard. On the 1st stage  some off the lads found it hard and some found it easy but there was no moaning and  they all just pushed their selves. Well in the 2nd stage it was a lot off fun. Max  did 360 degrees over the bridge, Liam  did the jump but ended up in a stream.

During the 3rd stage it started getting sandy and big hills appeared. Liam said to me ,”oh it looks easy” He started heading up the hill and then I think he started changing his mind. Everyone also found it hard but we finally made it up the hill. The 4th stage was tricky but everyone new needed to be careful and not go too fast round corners, in case they didn’t know what was round them, but everyone was good.

The weirwolf drop is most people’s  favourite drop on the trail. The last time we went to Cannock Chase no-one except me did it.  This time Leigh did the drop perfect for his first time , he turned around the corner with a big smile on his face,  but then he hit the smallest of stumps  and fell out with style.

So there you are some information about the day that we had at Cannock  Chase.
Everyone enjoyed it all. They  enjoyed getting muddy and wet and having a laugh along the way round the course. There a few bumps and grazes but nothing serious. I  was glad that everyone did the whole of the course and no one moaned or complained.
