Early in the morning on Saturday October 1st  five adults, eight Scouts and one Explorer met at the Scout hut for the start of a Mountain Experience Weekend. We all excitedly piled into the minibus and headed up to Edale, which is in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire.When we arrived in the car park at Edale we met up with Ben who had driven up on his own, as unfortunately he couldn’t stay with us all weekend.

1st Bedworth were proud to host the annual District Beaver Challenge Day at our headquarters on Sunday 2nd October. Here is a short report from Kerrie our Beaver Leader on a very successful day.

On Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th October,  Hopkins and Walton Cubs completed their Animal Carers badge at the Pets At Home store at Nuneaton

Well what can I say apart from well done Nuneaton District cubs. On Saturday 1st October  twelve Cubs from our District took part in an event known a The Frank Latchem Trophy Challenge. This is an event organised by Warwickshire Scout County and every District in the county is invited to enter a team. Each team consists of four eight year old's, four nine year olds and four ten year old's. Nicky Dunnigan  from Walton Pack represented 1st Bedworth in the Nuneaton team in the eight year old group.

Family Camp was held at Willesley Scout Camp Site in  Leicestershire  from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July 2011.  The McCafferty family were one of  the families who enjoyed the weekend. They have kindly written us a report of the weekend

For a number of years now we have entered the Malvern Challenge. This is a fantastic weekend where around 3000 Scouts and Guides, plus their Leaders camp together on a farm in the Malvern Hills. It is  a weekend of challenges , fun and partying which is well enjoyed by young and old alike. Alice, who is one our Explorer Scouts,  has kindly written us her account of the weekend.
