Boys and girls aged 8 to 10 years of age.
Cub Scouts is the second of the four youth sections offered by 1st Bedworth. Having two large Beaver Colonies in the Group means we always have children moving up to this section as they get older. This means that we do on occasion need to operate a waiting list. Because of this, we advise anybody interested in joining Cubs to get in touch as soon as possible to check availability and get your name down to avoid disapointment.
At the first meeting, parents are given copies of the information on this page and a registration form. The completed registration form should be returned as soon as possible.

1st Bedworth has two Cub Packs:
- Tuesday, 7-830 pm
- Thursday, 7-830 pm
Weekly subscriptions for membership of 1st Bedworth is £1.75 per week for all sections.
This fee covers activity insurance, programme materials, badges and helping to heat, light and maintain the building. It is still payable even if a member does not attend a section meeting.
Please also be aware that activities outside of the section meeting may be at extra cost.
Cub Scouts meet once a week at their 'Pack'.
Cub Scouts have a lot of fun, learn lots of new things and take part in adventurous activities. They have the chance to gain badges and awards in recognition of the effort made by each youngster at their own level of development and understanding.
The programme includes a wide selection of activities with the emphasis on the outdoors. This means we also offer occasional activities on other nights and weekends which may be at extra cost.
Meetings are run by a trained, experienced, Cub Scout Leader who is supported by a team of Assistant Cub Scout Leaders and helpers.

As with the other sections of 1st Bedworth, Cubs have their own uniform too:
- A green coloured sweatshirt,
- Royal blue neckerchief,
- Black or grey trousers or shorts,
- Dark coloured socks,
- Black shoes or trainers.
The sweatshirt and neckerhief typically costs around £10, and most Cubs wear their school trousers and shoes with their uniform.
Once a new recruit has their uniform they take part in a simple ceremony where they make the promise and become a full member. This ceremony is called an 'investiture' and is held at the end of the section meeting. Parents are more than welcome to attend their child's investiture.
Cubs are expected to learn the Promise and Law before their investiture.

1st Bedworth Scout Group has a Child Protection Policy which is available for download from our documents page. All adults having unsupervised access to any members of the Group have been vetted appropriately.
